Things to do in Punta Cana: a 3-day plan
Punta Cana makes a relaxed beach base. Choose your accommodation area first: distances between your hotel, beaches and excursion departures shape your itinerary.

A starting point for your three days
An illustrative plan. Adjust visits to your dates, interests and mobility; activities are not included or booked.
Day 1
Beach and arrival
Use your arrival day to settle in and explore the beach near your accommodation. In Bávaro, combine a walk, a swim and an unhurried meal without filling the day with transfers.
Day 2
One unhurried excursion
Set aside a day for an optional Isla Saona trip or a land activity. Confirm pickup, transfer duration and sea conditions with the operator before booking.
Day 3
At your own pace
Spend the morning at the beach or resting and try a Dominican meal. If flying home that day, allow for your airport transfer and avoid a long excursion.
Before you travel
- Check the beach access offered by your accommodation; access varies between areas.
- Budget separately for accommodation, transfers, meals and activities. Confirm amounts with each provider.
- Carry water and sun protection, and follow swimming guidance and protected-area rules.
